How To Use Rtd Excel
The RTD database contains preconfigured tables for getting real-time data from Thinkorswim thinkDesktop. Quote tables are designed for getting data for stocks, futures, and currency pairs. Use option tables for options. Since RealTimeToDB 2.5, RTD functions are used by default. To update existing DDE formulas, you can use patches from the. Edit: The tos.rtd is in my 'inactive application add ins' list but there is no option to activate it? Running Excel 2013 on windows 10. Ok so its specifically a problem with Excel 2013 not wanting to use the rtd plug-in. Many hours fighting RTD not working in Excel 2013 64-bit. The RTD function “pulls” data from Thinkorswim but Thinkorswim is not allowed to “push” data to Excel. Therefore Thinkorswim is not able to push a new list of ticker symbols into Excel. In order to update the list of ticker symbols in Excel you must manually export them from Thinkorswim.

Rtd In Excel
I am having trouble with the Excel RTD (Real Time Data) function and hope one of you experts can help. With the Think or Swim (TOS) platform running in the background, I open Excel and in cell A1, I enter a stock symbol, say IBM. In B1, I have =RTD('tos.rtd','BID',$A$1) which returns the proper Bid value for IBM stock. Here's the problem: if I change A1 to some other symbol, say MSFT, it will give me the correct MSFT bid, but then if I put IBM back in to A1 it just returns an empty cell. No error message or anything else, just an empty cell. So any symbol will work 1 time only. I have Excel 2010 on a PC. Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you!
